SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28

Expressing sadness at the passing of the Honorable J. Kenton Lambert, former member of the West Virginia Senate, former state director of the Farmers Home Administration and dedicated statesman.

Whereas, The Honorable J. Kenton Lambert was born August 28, 1910, at Parsons, Tucker County, the son of J. Herman and Bess L. (Kalar) Lambert; and
Whereas, The Honorable J. Kenton Lambert was a graduate of West Virginia University with an A.B. degree; and
Whereas, The Honorable J. Kenton Lambert served his nation with pride during World War II in the United States Navy and in the United States Navel Reserves; and
Whereas, The Honorable J. Kenton Lambert was married to his beloved wife Laura Vere Orr, with whom he shared the joy of having four children, sons James K. Lambert II, Anthony Orr Lambert and Rex Kevin Lambert and daughter Amanda (Lambert) Marshall; and
Whereas, The Honorable J. Kenton Lambert was first elected to the West Virginia Senate from the fifteenth senatorial district in 1962 and served until 1969. As a member of the Senate, the Honorable J. Kenton Lambert served as a member of several committees with outstanding dedication and distinction and was responsible for a myriad of legislation which was conceived by him for the betterment of all West Virginians; and
Whereas, Following his service in the West Virginia Senate, the Honorable J. Kenton Lambert continued his public service as the state director of the Farmers Home Administration, a position which he proudly held for seven years; and
Whereas, The Honorable J. Kenton Lambert passed away on March 4, 1995, in his beloved Tucker County, leaving behind a life of dedication to public service, not only as a member of the West Virginia Senate, but also as a member of a myriad of civil organizations; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby expresses its sincere sadness at the passing the Honorable J. Kenton Lambert, former member of the West Virginia Senate, former state director of the Farmers Home Administration and dedicated statesman; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby requested to forward a copy of this resolution to the members of the family of the Honorable J. Kenton Lambert.
